Spring Graduation Events
Please read below for detailed information about graduation events.
Eller College Graduation Convocation
In order to be recognized as a graduating senior at this event, all students must submit the Convocation Web Form sometime between Wednesday, April 1st and Wednesday, May 6th. This allows students an ample time period to submit information and a quote to be displayed while being recognized on stage. An email will be sent via the Spring Grad Listserv when the web form is available for students to access.
To compete the on-line college survey and Convocation Form, please follow these directions:
- Go to http://ugrad.eller.arizona.edu
- Click on the "eSMS ADVISING APPOINTMENT" logo (you do not need to schedule an appointment to complete this process)
- Log in using your student id and pin # and click LOGIN
- When you get to the Undergraduate Scheduling System, there should be a tab at the top titled "CONVOCATION". Click here
- Follow the instructions from this point to submit your information. To complete this web form, you will be asked to complete an on-line senior survey as well.
- This must be done by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2009.
- Student registration will be located directly in front of the ticket office on the South side of McKale Center and will begin at 4:00 pm
- The event will begin at 5:00 pm.
- Students MUST register prior to entering McKale in order to be recognized personally, on stage, during the ceremony.
- All students will sit in the student section on the floor of McKale and will be recognized individually in the order that you are seated.
- Graduating seniors may sit near friends that are also graduating in any order.
- Guests DO NOT need to purchase tickets to attend.
- This event is open to any and all friends and family of Eller College graduating seniors.
- The doors to McKale Center will open at 4:00pm to allow early seating of guests.
- Students are encouraged to dress professionally and wear any awards, such as cords for Beta Gamma Sigma or
graduating from the honors college or your leadership stole
from your student organization.
- Typical attire for guests
is nice/casual.
- Parking should be available in the Cherry
Avenue Garage from 3:30pm and on.
- Please be aware that parking
in the zone 1 parking lots may be monitored until 5 pm.

- The Eller Ambassadors will be selling flowers for graduates or families before and after the ceremony.

University-wide Commencement Ceremony
Saturday, May 16th, 2009
McKale Center
Graduates must assemble in Bear Down Gym at 8:30 am and the ceremony begins
at 9:00 am.
This event is also open to anyone to attend. No tickets are required for guests. All graduates wishing to participate must be wearing a cap, gown, and tassel which can be purchased through The University of Arizona Bookstore.

Bookstore or at Fast Copy in the Student Union (http://www.union.arizona.edu/fastcopy/announcements/index.php).

Diplomas are not distributed at the event since undergraduates will be recognized by colleges rather than individually. Diplomas are typically mailed a few weeks after final grades are verified to your permanent address, which you can check on student link under personal information.
